The GTRB Wild Weekender

 

Date: August 29-31st

Location: Durweston


Get ready for an unforgettable weekend of cycling, connection, and adventure at our Women's Cycling Festival! This event is all about celebrating the joy of riding in a relaxed, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere. Whether you're part of a MTB or cycling group, a solo adventurer, or brand new to cycling, this weekend is for you. Ride at your own pace, connect with like-minded people, and build confidence on two wheels. Trans and non-binary inclusive.

What to Expect

 

MTB, Road & Gravel Rides – Choose from different distances (short, medium & long)

Choose to join a group-led ride or follow gpx routes provided, the choice is yours.


Bike Maintenance & Bikepacking Tips – Hands-on workshops to boost your confidence on the trails.


Yoga Sessions – Stretch and unwind after a day in the saddle

Inspirational Talks – Hear from badass women in cycling, adventure, and endurance sports.


SUP & Wild Swimming – Natural dips, guided paddles, and chill-out time. (BYO SUP & buoyancy aid)


Camping & Community – Bring your own gear and enjoy an unforgettable weekend with great company


Local Food & Drink – Delicious options from independent local suppliers - Friday Night Italian Pizza & Saturday Night Paella available to purchase and prebook. Vegetarian, Vegan and Meat options are available.

Friday: Settle In & Unwind


3 PM Onwards - Arrivals & Sign up Pitch your tent, meet the crew


4 – 6 PM – Instructor-led SUP Sessions (BYO paddleboard and buoyancy aid)


DINNER: Stone Baked Pizza (6 - 8 PM) – Avail to purchase on the day or pre-book.


7.30 - 8.30 PM Sunset Yoga*


8 - 8.30 PM Introduction Talk GTRB - Event Briefing


8.30 PM - Claire Sharpe - Introduction to bikepacking top tips/ best hacks

As the sun melts into the horizon, we move with intention—exhale and reconnect, to embody your inner glow under the painted sky.

Saturday: Ride, Explore & Connect

 

8 AM Morning Yoga / Stretch Session – Shake off the tent sleep, Amiee Stongman RISE Flow


Breakfast & Coffee (8 AM) Food available to purchase


9.30 AM Maintenance Talk Pre-ride Checks & Fixes (9.30 AM) —Offcamber: The Local Bike shop will be running a hands-on maintenance check session that will cover basic trail fixes, tyre pressure, chain care, and emergency repairs. This session is perfect for people to apply tips straight away on the ride.


10.30 AM – 3 PM - Group & Guided Rides

MTB & Gravel groups (short, medium & long routes)

Join in on led rides or choose a route to ride with friends

All routes have café stops for lunch


11.45-2pm Coached Session on Okeford Hill bike Park (£10)

Want to learn some new skills - Fancy a coached MTB session at the OkefordHill MTB park? We can provide a route to and from the park from the main site. (Alternative option to guided rides)


3PM - 6PM - Wood Fired Sauna River Dip & Ice Plunge - Bake Sauna 


3 PM -6 PM -Live Music - Expect guitars, drums, and great tunes— Some brilliant acoustic bands will be playing instrumental originals and covers to soundtrack your weekend.


DINNER: Paella (5.30 PM onwards) – Available to purchase on the day or pre-book.

7PM Edel Mcanne - World class Women's Physio - Pelvic Health & Daily Stretches


7.45 PM Couch QA session with Molly & Katy

Cycling the UK coast for suicide prevention Katy Roberts - Saddle to Sea

Molly Weaver - British cyclist becomes first woman to hold record, taking 17 hours off previous time.


8.30 PM Live Music - Final Set

Sunday: Ride & Recover

 Coffee & Breakfast (8 AM)


9AM- 2PM- Choose a route you've not done already, we will host some group rides for all distances.


10AM -1PM – Instructor-led SUP Sessions.

GPX Routes to be sent out in advance. Group Rides

cica 20KM, 40KM, 60KM,80KM with MTB, Gravel and Road options
