Our GTRB social rides are all about getting more women out riding, meeting new people and exploring some brilliant local routes together. Everyone is welcome – whether you’re coming on your own, joining us for the first time or already part of the GTRB community.
We now run rides across a wide area of Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire and the Isle of Wight, with regular opportunities to get involved throughout the month.
We have evening social rides from Bournemouth and North Dorset, alongside our monthly rides in the New Forest, Purbecks, Isle of Wight, Cranborne Chase and Salisbury areas. Routes, distances and terrain vary, so there are opportunities to join us for everything from relaxed social spins to longer gravel, road and off-road adventures.
We’re also always looking to grow the GTRB riding community further. We’ve been testing rides in new areas, including Norfolk, and you’ll find GTRB riders meeting up at cycling events across the UK and Wales, including trips to places such as the Forest of Dean.
We’d love to create more local GTRB groups and make it easier for women to find people to ride with wherever they live. If you’d love to see GTRB rides in your area or you’re interested in helping to get a local group started and would like our support, get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.
The best way to keep up with upcoming rides is to join the GTRB WhatsApp Community. This is where we share ride dates, locations, routes, distances and all the information you’ll need to come along.
It’s also a great place to connect with other riders, find people to ride with and hear about other cycling events that members of the GTRB community are heading to.
GTRB social monthly rides are organised and supported by volunteers and are completely free to join.
Our rides are group rides, not guided or coached sessions, and everyone takes part at their own risk. Riders are responsible for their own safety, bike handling and following the Highway Code at all times. We ride considerately, communicate hazards and follow shared group-riding guidance to help keep everyone safe. We look out for each other as a group and operate a no-drop policy, which means we do our best to ensure no rider is left riding on their own.
Please arrive with your bike in good working order, including brakes and tyres, and wear a helmet.
We recommend bringing a spare inner tube or tubeless plug kit, basic tools, snacks, enough water for the route, and front and rear lights – particularly during evening rides and throughout the winter months.
We’ve teamed up with The Woods Cyclery in the New Forest, who have offered the GTRB community an exclusive discount on bike hire.
Whether you don’t currently have a bike, want to try something different, or fancy hiring an e-bike for the day, it’s an affordable way to get involved and join one of our New Forest rides.
