The Girls That Ride Bikes (GTRB) is a supportive, down-to-earth community built to create space in cycling where everyone feels they belong. We celebrate women at every stage, from those just starting out to those chasing big goals, because every rider’s story matters.
At GTRB, it’s not about being at the front or the back, it’s about connection. We ride together, share knowledge, and encourage each other to set new challenges — whether that’s tackling your first hill, learning a new skill, or planning your next adventure.
Based in Dorset, our community blends a wide mix of experiences:
- Local ride-outs that bring people together regularly
- Bikepacking trips for bigger adventures
- Maintenance classes to build confidence on and off the bike
- Talks and events that inspire and connect
- And our annual GTRB Festival, a celebration of women, cycling, and the outdoors
Inclusivity is at the heart of what we do. The FLINTA community (Female, Lesbian, Intersex, Non-binary, Trans, Agender), along with all riders and adventurers, are welcome. GTRB is about making sure no one feels left behind, and everyone has a chance to be part of something bigger.
“I set up Girls that ride bikes because I wanted to create the space I was searching for — somewhere you can turn up alone, feel supported, and be inspired by the women around you. It’s about riding together, sharing experiences, and celebrating what we can achieve when we lift each other up ” – Roanna, Founder
